El Salvador Embassy Partners with BYU Pathway to Offer Full Online Scholarships.

The Embassy of El Salvador in the United States has forged a strategic alliance with BYU Pathway to grant 50 full academic scholarships for online university programs. This initiative aims to expand higher education opportunities for Salvadoran citizens, allowing them to earn fully accredited U.S. degrees within three years from anywhere in the world.

During the official announcement, Ambassador Milena Mayorga highlighted that this partnership is part of a broader diplomatic effort in Washington to empower Salvadorans. “Part of my work in Washington is to obtain academic opportunities that allow Salvadorans to build a better future,” Mayorga stated, extending her gratitude to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for facilitating these programs.

Brian Ashton, President of BYU Pathway, emphasized the global reach of their educational models, noting that they currently offer accredited online degrees in nearly 200 countries. Ashton invited eligible candidates to apply, expressing the institution’s enthusiasm to welcome Salvadoran students into their rigorous, English-based degree tracks.

In addition to the university scholarships, the partnership includes access to English Connect, a program offering free English language training to all Salvadorans living either in the U.S. or in El Salvador. Prospective students can find detailed application requirements and program guidelines by visiting byupathway.edu and englishconnect.org/es.
