The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in El Salvador has unveiled key development plans for the construction site of the new International Fairs and Conventions Center. In a significant shift toward sustainable urban planning, diplomatic officials confirmed that the vast majority of the designated terrain will be preserved as an ecological hub rather than being entirely paved over for commercial infrastructure.
According to official statements released by the diplomatic mission, the upcoming modern complex will occupy only 30% of the total land area. The remaining 70% of the property is strictly reserved to establish an expansive green zone, ecological reserve, and recreational space specifically designed for Salvadoran families and community coexistence.
In a public statement shared via social media, the Chinese Embassy highlighted the environmental significance of this layout, stating that the project is set to mark “a milestone in the sustainable development of El Salvador.” This design integration aims to balance necessary economic infrastructure with essential public green spaces in the metropolitan region.
Diplomatic representatives further emphasized that this joint initiative reflects a deepening bilateral relationship focused on long-term regional prosperity. The embassy noted that ongoing cooperation between China and El Salvador continues to successfully translate into direct foreign investment, infrastructure development, and tangible public works aimed at improving citizen well-being.
