El Salvador Hosts Major Ibero-American Sustainable Tourism Summit for 2026.

El Salvador has officially inaugurated the forum on Sustainability and Social Responsibility in Tourism El Salvador 2026. Under the banner “Innovation for Sustainability in Action,” this prestigious regional gathering positions the country as the host of the Sustainable & Social Tourism Summit, widely considered the most influential event of its kind in Ibero-America due to its impact on strategic alliances and industry-wide policies.

The Salvadoran government has successfully established the country as an ideal global stage for high-level international events. This achievement is heavily credited to strengthened national security and recent infrastructural development, factors that have transformed the nation into a prominent benchmark for international tourism and global conventions.

The summit directly connects international tourism ministers, global business leaders, academics, and local communities. A key component of the event includes the participation of 250 local tourism entrepreneurs, aiming to equip service providers with the necessary tools to integrate sustainability into modern tourism standards. Alejandra Durán, director of Corsatur, emphasized that these tools are vital for “responding to the current demands of travelers and ensuring long-term business success.”

Beyond business growth, the forum maintains a strong focus on environmental conservation and community well-being. Eny Aguiñada, president of the Salvadoran Institute of Tourism (ISTU), noted that the summit aims to “emphasize concrete actions that allow for the continued responsible development of the sector, with a priority focus on the care and conservation of the country’s natural resources.”

Through this international summit, El Salvador solidifies its commitment to using tourism as a primary engine for economic development. By fostering high-level dialogue and promoting responsible practices, the administration aims to enhance the country’s international projection while ensuring that the benefits of the travel industry directly impact local communities.
