The beautiful Apaneca-Ilamatepec Biosphere Reserve in El Salvador has been selected as the venue for the VIII Ibero-American Rural Tourism Gathering, focusing on the promotion and development of sustainable and eco-friendly tourism. The event, organized by the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR), is scheduled to take place from November 6th to November 10th of this year.
With participation from all 22 nations comprising the Ibero-American System, the country is gearing up to welcome representatives from across the region. “The Apaneca-Ilamatepec Biosphere Reserve was chosen because of its diverse ecosystems and agro-ecosystems that offer ample opportunities for rural tourism in various specialties,” explained IBEROATUR.
The gathering will focus on promoting and developing sustainable and eco-friendly tourism, with presentations led by renowned Ibero-American experts and specialists in agrotourism, regenerative tourism, marketing and promotion, governance, ancestral identity, food security, and culture, among other topics.
Additionally, the institute highlights that the event seeks to strengthen cooperation and foster closer ties between different associations and organizations.
