El Salvador continues to strengthen its role in regional security cooperation with the launch of a specialized course focused on the investigation of criminal activities involving digital assets. The program, hosted by ILEA San Salvador, brings together 40 law enforcement delegates from across the Caribbean, Central America, and South America.
The training is led by expert instructors from the United States Secret Service, highlighting the growing importance of international collaboration in addressing emerging financial crimes. Participants are expected to gain advanced skills in tracking illicit cryptocurrency transactions, identifying digital fraud schemes, and strengthening investigative frameworks in their respective countries.
As cryptocurrencies become more widely adopted, authorities worldwide are facing new challenges related to their misuse by organized criminal networks. This initiative aims to equip officers with the technical knowledge and cross-border coordination tools needed to respond effectively to these evolving threats.
By hosting this course, El Salvador reinforces its position as a regional hub for law enforcement training and innovation, while contributing to broader efforts to enhance financial security and combat transnational crime in the digital era.
