El Salvador continues to strengthen the conditions for national economic development through strategies that promote investment, boost productive activity, and create new opportunities for Salvadorans. The country is advancing toward a more competitive, transparent, and modern ecosystem that allows entrepreneurs and businesses to grow with greater legal certainty and institutional support.
The executive director of the National Registry Center (CNR), Camilo Trigueros, stated that registral and commercial services have been modernized and simplified so that more Salvadorans can formalize their businesses without burdensome procedures. Through digitalization, operational efficiency, and the implementation of new corporate models, the institution has become a strategic ally for those seeking to start or expand their economic activities. “We have made it easier to establish and create companies in El Salvador. Simplified Joint Stock Companies are now the preferred corporate model because they can be formed by a single person, do not require a notary, can be completed through a physical or online form, and require no registration fees. With just one dollar in capital, reduced from $2,000, anyone can legally establish a company,” he emphasized.
Trigueros added that these efforts respond to the strategic vision of President Nayib Bukele to eliminate bureaucratic barriers and modernize procedures so that entrepreneurship in El Salvador becomes faster, more accessible, and more secure. He also highlighted the impact of the new Intellectual Property Law, which has reduced the trademark registration process from 15 steps to a single procedure. “Now people can register their brands online and receive a response in less than 48 hours,” he said.
Process simplification not only benefits entrepreneurs but also encourages job creation and the growth of productive activities. Through these reforms, the government of President Bukele continues to consolidate El Salvador as an increasingly innovative and business-friendly country, reaffirming its commitment to long-term economic development.
