El Salvador has taken another major step in technological modernization, announcing a new collaboration to secure government documents using the Bitcoin blockchain. The announcement was made during Bitcoin Histórico, where Simple Proof confirmed its partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Cancillería) and the Ministry of the Environment (MARN).
Through this initiative, El Salvador will integrate Bitcoin-based cryptographic timestamping into its public records, ensuring that official documents become tamper-proof, permanently verifiable, and protected against manipulation. According to Simple Proof, the “Unchangeable Proofs” service allows any citizen or institution to independently verify the authenticity of records using the Bitcoin network.
The presentation, supported by experts Peter Todd and Carlos Toriello, demonstrated how environmental and institutional documents can now be validated directly through blockchain tools. Public files from the Ministry of the Environment are already available for verification through its official platform.
This milestone was made possible with the support of the Bitcoin Office, Stacy Herbert, and key technological partners such as Cubo+, CUBO AI, and other contributors advancing El Salvador’s digital ecosystem.
As the first nation to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender, El Salvador continues to strengthen its global leadership by applying blockchain technology not only to finance but also to government transparency and institutional trust.
