El Salvador continues advancing the modernization of San Salvador’s Historic Center, turning it into one of the main destinations for Salvadorans and international visitors. The revitalization of this area is boosting the economy, encouraging commerce, and creating new jobs that benefit local families.
This transformation is supported by private sector investments, including the recent opening of Papa John’s 46th restaurant in El Salvador, located next to Plaza Francisco Morazán. The $180,000 investment brings direct employment to 25 families and supports nearly 60 people within the supply chain.
“We are inaugurating our 46th Papa John’s in the Historic Center. Today we celebrate not only the opening of this restaurant but also the support we provide to more than 25 families now part of our company,” said Sofía Somoza, director of marketing and image for the Historic Center Authority. She added that the effort “consolidates the joint work carried out alongside the Government of President Bukele.”
Cristóbal Platero, marketing manager for Papa John’s El Salvador, also praised the government’s support. “Thanks to the accompaniment of President Bukele’s team, we were able to open this branch, generating direct and indirect jobs. With this modern location, we are also benefiting suppliers and support teams,” he said.
With new businesses choosing the area, the Bukele administration’s comprehensive transformation of San Salvador’s Historic Center continues to strengthen its reputation as a key attraction for both tourism and economic growth.
