Enhancing Behavior and Learning: El Salvador’s New School Discipline Initiative – clear, concise, and benefit-driven.

Today, the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology issued a memorandum to all public school directors across El Salvador, announcing new disciplinary measures for students. The initiative aims to strengthen discipline, order, and personal presentation within the student community.

The memorandum, signed by Minister Karla Edith Trigueros, emphasizes that school directors are responsible for enforcing the rules and serving as role models of order and discipline for students, teachers, and administrative staff. Starting Wednesday, August 20, directors will supervise students at school entrances, ensuring proper uniforms, appropriate hairstyles, and respectful greetings.

Commenting on the announcement, President Bukele shared on his X account: “To build the El Salvador we dream of, it is clear that we must completely transform our education system.”

The directive is mandatory, and failure to comply will be considered a serious administrative violation, leading to corresponding actions.
