Salvadoran micro and small enterprises (MSEs) will soon have access to new international markets through BE1 Israel – El Salvador at the heart of global trade, the National Commission for Micro and Small Enterprises (Conamype) announced. In partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Conamype and BE1 Israel recently signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at opening fresh export routes for products made by Salvadoran MSEs.
The agreement will integrate these businesses into export chains, diversifying destinations and product categories. The first stage will focus on items such as handbags for men and women, jewelry, and unique high-value artisanal pieces. BE1 Israel, a consortium based in Israel, combines investor advisory, financing, innovation, and import companies, offering a platform to showcase Salvadoran products in high-potential markets.
Deputy Foreign Minister Adriana Mira stated that this agreement reaffirms our commitment to bringing the best of Salvadoran exports to strategic and highly competitive markets worldwide. The Ministry will assist in identifying opportunities and buyers in Israel, providing market intelligence, business contacts, and diplomatic and logistical support for trade missions and product showcases.
Conamype emphasized that through these Commercial Houses, they promote the range of products MSEs can sell internationally, also available on their website’s marketplace. Currently, 38 Commercial Houses operate in countries including Honduras, France, Colombia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Italy, Canada, China, and Hong Kong.
According to Conamype, the most exported products through these channels are crafts (34%), coffee (28%), clothing (22%), handbags (9%), footwear (5%), and chocolate (2%).
