The United States Department of State, in its latest annual human rights report, has officially stated that “there were no credible reports of significant human rights violations” in El Salvador during 2024.
This milestone marks a clear departure from the 2023 report, which included serious allegations such as torture, enforced disappearances, and inhumane prison conditions.
According to the updated report, El Salvador has demonstrated remarkable improvements in public safety, the protection of individual rights, and the creation of a stable environment for both citizens and international visitors. These advances strengthen the country’s global image and position it as a safe and attractive destination for tourism, investment, and international cooperation.
