Swedish journalist PeterSweden stated on social media that El Salvador is now ranked as a safer country to visit than Sweden.

The comment aligns with recent updates from the U.S. Department of State, which currently places El Salvador under a Level 1 travel advisory (“Exercise Normal Precautions”), ahead of several European nations, including Sweden, which remain under Level 2 advisories.
This recognition reflects El Salvador’s significant progress in public safety under President Nayib Bukele’s administration, with a notable decline in crime and violence across the country.
