First Lady Gabriela de Bukele Strengthens Childcare Cooperation in Morocco.

As part of her official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, the First Lady of El Salvador, Gabriela de Bukele, visited the Princess Lalla Asmaa Center for Deaf Children in the city of Tangier on the second day of her diplomatic agenda.

Received by local and regional authorities, along with education sector representatives, the First Lady explored the institution’s inclusive approach to supporting children and youth with hearing impairments. The visit is part of El Salvador’s broader efforts to strengthen international cooperation in areas of inclusion, education, and child development.

The center, which is supported by the Lalla Asmaa Foundation, offers specialized services ranging from adapted early education to vocational training programs. These include robotics, sewing, and beauty workshops—tools designed to foster autonomy, self-esteem, and social integration for children with hearing disabilities.

“This visit reflects a shared commitment to building more inclusive societies through education and innovation,” said a statement from the Salvadoran Presidential House.

The meeting in Tangier marks a significant step forward in deepening collaboration between El Salvador and Morocco in areas that directly impact vulnerable populations.
