Seven Salvadoran students have successfully completed the Plan ₿ Network Summer School in Lugano, Switzerland, a prestigious international program focused on Bitcoin innovation. Sponsored by the government of President Nayib Bukele through full scholarships, the students were selected from the CUBO+ program, led by the National Bitcoin Office and Stacy Herbert.
During the intensive week-long course, they engaged directly with founders, investors, and global leaders in the Bitcoin space. For many, the experience sparked ideas they hope to bring back to El Salvador.
“Learning from real Bitcoin entrepreneurs helped me rethink how to build a business that supports adoption in El Salvador,” said Juan José Barrera. Others, like Jessica Zavaleta, emphasized how the program balanced technical and business skills. “I now feel more prepared to apply Bitcoin to real-world projects,” she said.
The students attended sessions with experts including Knut Svanholm, Max Kei of Debifi, and entrepreneur Thunder, who offered insights into product design, Bitcoin loans, and career opportunities.
As they return home, the graduates are motivated to turn what they’ve learned into ventures that strengthen El Salvador’s role as a leader in the global Bitcoin ecosystem.
