Moscow Invites El Salvador to Atomic Week as Nuclear Energy Talks Advance.

Vice President of El Salvador, Mr. Félix Ulloa Jr., received the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Mr. Mikhail Ledenev, to discuss opportunities for bilateral cooperation and strengthening diplomatic relations between both nations.

During the meeting, Vice President Ulloa presented the government’s ongoing efforts to attract investment through legal reforms and fiscal incentives such as tax exemptions and import duty reductions. He emphasized a new package of laws aimed at improving access to financing, boosting the digital economy, and generating employment in innovation, infrastructure, and technology sectors.

The discussion also included the upcoming edition of the International Conference on State and Democracy (#CIED), an initiative led by the Vice Presidency, which is expected to feature academic and technical participation from Russian institutions. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to expanding political, scientific, and cultural dialogue and deepening bilateral cooperation.

“Russia is ready to strengthen its participation in strategic projects in El Salvador,” said Ambassador Ledenev, highlighting interest in railway development and energy cooperation. He also invited Vice President Ulloa to attend Atomic Week in Moscow this September, reflecting El Salvador’s growing interest in nuclear energy following the recent approval of the Nuclear Energy Law by the Legislative Assembly.

The meeting reinforces the commitment to a shared work agenda between El Salvador and the Russian Federation, based on mutual respect, technical exchange, and the pursuit of mutually beneficial opportunities. Mr. Alexander Ilyukhin, Head of the Embassy Office of the Russian Federation in El Salvador, also attended the meeting.
