El Salvador made a vibrant appearance at the third edition of the “Sound Odyssey” Festival, recently held in Brussels, Belgium, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen international ties and promote its cultural identity abroad.
Organized as a multicultural gathering, the festival brought together delegations from around the globe and welcomed hundreds of Belgian and international visitors eager to explore diverse traditions, music, cuisine, and art.

At the heart of El Salvador’s participation was a colorful stand set up by the Salvadoran Embassy, offering samples of one of the country’s most prized exports: high-altitude coffee. Visitors also enjoyed a slice of traditional Salvadoran quesadilla, providing a taste of the country’s culinary heritage. For those with a preference for spirits, artisanal Salvadoran rum was also available for tasting.

The experience was enriched with visuals and information about El Salvador’s top tourist destinations, encouraging attendees to consider the country as a future travel destination.
On the main stage, a folkloric performance featuring traditional tunes like Las Cortadoras and Adentro, Cojutepeque captivated the audience with energetic rhythms and colorful dances.

These efforts were supported by members of the Salvadoran diaspora, whose pride and deep-rooted connection to their homeland were once again evident. “This event allowed us to share a piece of El Salvador with the world, and to see our community come together with such enthusiasm was truly inspiring,” said Salvadoran Ambassador to Belgium, Javier Reyes.
