Portugal’s Atlântico Sul Chamber Leads Delegation to Explore Salvadoran Business Opportunities.

El Salvador continues to position itself as a reliable destination for foreign investment. On Tuesday, Investment Secretary Miguel Kattan and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Adriana Mira welcomed a delegation of Portuguese entrepreneurs from the Câmara de Comércio Atlântico Sul, who expressed interest in investing in various sectors of the country.

The delegation, currently touring business sites across El Salvador, is accompanied by Rhina Bardi, the Salvadoran ambassador to Portugal, and Filipe Vasconcelos Romão, president of the Atlântico Sul Chamber of Commerce.

During the meeting, potential areas of cooperation were discussed, including hospitality, pharmaceuticals, and tourism. “We continue to drive economic development and investment in El Salvador. Thanks to the support of our diplomatic mission in Portugal and in coordination with the Secretariat of Commerce, we received a business delegation from the Câmara de Comércio Atlântico Sul,” said Vice Minister Mira.

She emphasized that the Salvadoran government is working in a coordinated manner under President Nayib Bukele to increase opportunities for new investments in the country. “With a strong commitment to promoting foreign investment, we jointly promote opportunities in strategic sectors that support sustainable development, such as tourism, infrastructure, and services,” she added.

In line with this goal, Secretary Kattan also met recently with Mylène Paradis, Canada’s ambassador to El Salvador, and Antony Rizk of the Canadian Commercial Corporation, to explore new cooperation projects in the fields of education and trade. “These types of partnerships pave the way for projects that improve people’s quality of life and strengthen institutional capacities in the country,” the Secretariat stated.
