El Salvador Strengthens International Investment Ties with Portugal and Canada.

El Salvador continues to solidify its position as a reliable investment destination, strengthening its international partnerships with strategic allies in Europe and North America, according to the Secretary of Commerce and Investment (@SComercioSV).

Secretary Miguel Kattán recently welcomed a delegation from Portugal, including El Salvador’s Ambassador to Portugal, Rhina Bardi, and Filipe Vasconcelos Romão, President of the Atlântico Sul Chamber of Commerce, along with a group of Portuguese entrepreneurs from diverse sectors. Discussions focused on investment opportunities in hospitality, pharmaceuticals, and tourism, with both sides exploring new avenues for bilateral cooperation.

In a separate meeting, Secretary Kattán also received Mylène Paradis, Ambassador of Canada to El Salvador (@EmbCanSV), and Antony Rizk, a representative of the Canada Commerce Corporation (@CanComCorp). The dialogue focused on cooperation in education and trade, aiming to lay the groundwork for initiatives that enhance the quality of life for Salvadorans and bolster institutional development.

“These partnerships are part of a broader strategy to expand El Salvador’s global investment footprint,” the Secretariat stated, emphasizing the importance of diplomatic and commercial ties in advancing the country’s economic goals.

As El Salvador positions itself at the forefront of regional economic transformation, international cooperation continues to play a key role in attracting foreign direct investment, diversifying trade, and strengthening public-private collaboration.
