With the support of the Embassy of El Salvador in Germany, the country proudly took part in the recent Carnival of Cultures in Berlin, an artistic and cultural celebration that brings together people of all ages, backgrounds, and traditions.

Held from June 6 to 9 in the German capital, the Carnival is organized annually by Piranha Arts and is recognized as Germany’s largest celebration of cultural diversity. It is also considered Berlin’s number one street parade, transforming the city’s main avenues into a vibrant showcase of global creativity.

El Salvador was represented by the Salvadoran Association Flor de Fuego Izalco, a group of Salvadorans residing in Germany. Through their participation, they presented traditional Salvadoran costumes and folklore music, captivating audiences with a rich display of national heritage.

Since 2005, Flor de Fuego Izalco has taken part in the Carnival, acting as a cultural bridge that strengthens ties between El Salvador and Germany. “This representation highlights the diversity, art, and traditions of El Salvador on an international stage,” said a spokesperson from the group.

The Embassy of El Salvador has played a key role in supporting initiatives like this with the Salvadoran diaspora. “We are committed to showcasing our culture and proudly sharing El Salvador’s name in spaces that welcome thousands of people and their traditions,” noted the Embassy.
