Young participants of GastroLab Surf City, a training program designed to boost skills in El Salvador’s tourism industry, gathered this week at a national event focused on promoting healthy habits and food safety. The initiative is part of the Ministry of Tourism’s ongoing efforts to connect young talent with sustainable and health-conscious practices in the country’s growing hospitality sector.
Participants, aged 18 to 35, came from across key departments including Santa Ana, Ahuachapán, Sonsonate, La Libertad, La Unión, and San Miguel. The gathering served as a space for sharing knowledge, fostering community, and emphasizing the importance of nutrition in tourism-related services.
Programs like GastroLab are empowering our youth with tools that not only elevate our tourism standards but also support the well-being of visitors and locals alike.
To encourage further engagement, an informative virtual meeting will be held on Thursday, May 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Young people from the six departments are invited to join and learn how to become part of this dynamic initiative.
