Salvadoran Embassy Hosts Coffee Event to Attract Saudi Investors and Importers.

The Embassy of El Salvador in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recently hosted a special tasting event featuring the country’s renowned Pacamara coffee variety. The initiative aimed to highlight the exceptional quality and unique flavor profile of Salvadoran coffee while strengthening commercial ties with the Saudi market.

Salvadoran barista Miguel Candel, currently ranked 15th in the world for manual brewing methods, led the presentation. Attendees enjoyed a detailed overview of the cultivation, harvesting, and preparation processes behind Pacamara coffee, which is grown in celebrated regions such as Apaneca, Chinameca, and Metapán.

The event brought together diplomats, local officials, entrepreneurs, coffee professionals including baristas and roasters, importers, and quality-conscious consumers such as bloggers and culinary media representatives. “This kind of exchange is essential to showcase the value of our coffee and build lasting partnerships,” said Ambassador Ricardo Ernesto Cucalón, who presided over the event alongside the Salvadoran diplomatic and consular team.

The tasting served not only to promote specialty coffee from El Salvador but also to reinforce the country’s image as a premium coffee producer and emerging tourist destination in Central America. The event also opened doors for potential bilateral cooperation in areas such as sustainable agriculture, quality certification, and joint promotional efforts. Invitations for future official visits and business missions were also discussed as part of the ongoing effort to diversify Salvadoran exports and create new opportunities for local producers.
