The government of El Salvador has launched the 2025 Vacation Plan for travelers at El Salvador’s International Airport, which will be in effect from April 11 to April 25. During this period, the airport is expected to handle approximately 233,000 passengers, including arrivals, departures, and connections, marking a 3% increase compared to 2024.
Federico Anliker, president of the Autonomous Executive Port Commission (CEPA), stated that the airport will serve an average of more than 15,000 travelers per day during the holiday season. Additionally, over 1,000 commercial passenger flights are projected, reflecting a similar 3% growth compared to last year’s Holy Week operations.

To ensure efficient airport operations, CEPA will deploy 1,200 employees to provide 24-hour support in key areas such as customer service, check-in, security, luggage handling, cleaning, aviation firefighting, medical assistance, maintenance, ramp operations, and air traffic control. Moreover, approximately 400 personnel from various government institutions—including immigration, tourism, customs, the National Civil Police, and health services—will be stationed at the airport to assist travelers.
Alejandra Durán, president of the Salvadoran Tourism Corporation (Corsatur), reported that El Salvador expects to receive around 135,000 foreign visitors during the holiday period. She noted that 45% of incoming travelers arrive by air, primarily from the United States, Guatemala, Honduras, and other international destinations.

Previously, Minister of Tourism Morena Valdez projected that foreign visitors would contribute approximately $111 million in foreign currency earnings within just one week. Furthermore, statistics from the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) indicate that around 1.7 million people, both locals and tourists, are expected to explore various destinations across the country during Holy Week.
One of the most popular attractions will be San Salvador’s Historic Center, where an estimated 521,000 visitors are expected to gather for religious activities, making it the top destination during the holiday period.
