U.S. President Donald Trump Thanks Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele for Imprisoning Tren de Aragua Criminals.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has expressed his gratitude to Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele for his administration’s efforts in imprisoning 238 members of the Venezuelan criminal organization Tren de Aragua. These individuals are now being held in El Salvador’s high-security prison, the Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT).

During a public statement, President Trump acknowledged the threat posed by Tren de Aragua, describing them as “a group of thugs that… come from the prisons of Venezuela.” He emphasized the dangerous nature of the group but commended El Salvador’s handling of the situation. “They’re dangerous people, but they didn’t look so dangerous when the guards took care of the situation in El Salvador, and I want to thank the President, @nayibbukele,” Trump remarked.

Tren de Aragua, originally formed within Venezuela’s prison system, has expanded its operations across Latin America, engaging in organized crime, drug trafficking, extortion, and violent activities. The transfer of its members to CECOT, one of the most secure prisons in the region, is part of El Salvador’s broader strategy to combat gang violence and transnational crime.

This collaboration highlights the ongoing security measures implemented by the Bukele administration, which has gained international recognition for its aggressive stance against organized crime.
