El Salvador continues to improve the quality of life for Salvadorans by guaranteeing legal security for families who have long awaited the recognition of their property rights. Through the Ministry of Housing, 48 families from the communities of La Esperanza 3, in the district of Dolores, and El Tiangue, in the district of Sensuntepeque, received their long-awaited property titles.
During the ceremony, Minister of Housing Michelle Sol emphasized the government’s commitment to housing projects that directly benefit Salvadoran families. “Thanks to God, we have President Nayib Bukele, who has made it possible for us to pass laws that allow us to do what we are doing today,” she stated.
The delivery of these property titles marks the end of a long struggle for many families who had sought legal recognition of their homes for decades. “I congratulate you, because today you will finally have your property titles. I know that many of you have been requesting them for years, knocking on doors and being misled,” Minister Sol added.
The government has prioritized the legalization of properties at a national level, ensuring that more families gain ownership rights. “There are more than 1,000 pending titles in Cabañas alone, and we are already working on them,” the minister confirmed. She also highlighted that the government has invested $21,600 in the legal processes necessary to grant these titles.
A significant aspect of this initiative is its focus on women’s property rights. “Fifty-five percent of the titles delivered today are registered in the name of women,” Minister Sol announced. This policy aims to promote gender equality and economic stability for female homeowners.
Minister Sol acknowledged that while much progress has been made, there is still more to accomplish. “We are amazed at how much has been achieved in less than six years. There is still a lot to do, but I can assure you that it will be done,” she concluded.
The government’s efforts to legalize properties across El Salvador reflect a broader strategy to provide security, dignity, and stability for families. By addressing long-standing legal issues, the Bukele administration continues to demonstrate its commitment to the well-being of Salvadorans.
