The construction industry in El Salvador is set for a promising year in 2025, with the Salvadoran Chamber of the Construction Industry (CASALCO) estimating an 8% growth for the sector. This optimistic forecast follows a solid performance in 2024, where the sector contributed $1.7 billion to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by the end of the third quarter. This figure reflects a growth of 1.2% compared to the same period in 2023.
CASALCO President José Antonio Velásquez highlighted that the official data available until the third quarter of 2024 showed a 1.52% growth compared to 2020, indicating steady progress in the industry. Looking ahead, Velásquez projected that the sector could reach $2.27 billion by the end of 2024, based on official figures.
For 2025, CASALCO’s estimates, taking into account historical growth trends and averages, suggest that the construction sector could close the year with approximately $2.45 billion. If the estimate holds, the sector would see a notable growth of at least 8% by the end of 2025, compared to 2024.
This optimistic outlook underscores the continued strength and resilience of El Salvador’s construction industry, which remains a key contributor to the nation’s economic development.
