El Salvador’s Rosales Hospital Set for Major Upgrade: A New Era in Healthcare.

President Nayib Bukele reaffirmed his commitment to providing Salvadorans with a modern and decent hospital, emphasizing the imminent completion of the new Rosales National Hospital. His comments came in response to criticism from opposition figures who argue that the historic building should not be altered, calling it a “heritage” site.

“We will not listen to the complaints of the opposition,” Bukele stated on X, following backlash regarding the hospital’s ongoing renovation and construction. The president posted a video showing the deteriorated conditions of the current Rosales facility, including its worn infrastructure and outdated medical equipment, which has led to the closure of several rooms. He called the existing hospital a “true house of terror” and insisted that no Salvadoran should receive care in such conditions.

The new hospital will feature over 87 consultation rooms, 44 procedure rooms, a pharmacy, a blood bank, a clinical laboratory, and specialized rooms for nephrology, cardiology, oncology, and imaging. In addition, it will be designed with sustainability in mind, earning EDGE certification for low energy consumption and environmental harmony.

Bukele emphasized that improving public health services is a top priority. “The Salvadoran people deserve a decent and modern hospital, and that is exactly what we will give them very soon,” he said, reinforcing his government’s dedication to advancing healthcare infrastructure despite political opposition.
