In a recent conference, Mauricio Claver-Carone, the U.S. Special Envoy for Latin America, lauded El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele for his consistent leadership and pivotal role in security matters. Claver-Carone remarked, “Frankly, President Bukele is the most consistent president in the region. Ten years ago, El Salvador was the murder capital of the world, and today it is the safest in the world.”
Claver-Carone highlighted Bukele’s effectiveness in tackling crime, stressing that the Salvadoran president has become a vital ally in U.S. efforts to address migration. “For us, he is a great ally in migration issues,” Claver-Carone stated, underscoring the importance of collaboration between the U.S. and El Salvador on these challenges.
