El Salvador Showcases Tourism Potential at Event in Stockholm, Sweden.

El Salvador presented its vibrant tourism offerings in Stockholm, Sweden, with the goal of attracting new investments, increasing visitor numbers, and fostering strategic alliances. The event, titled «El Salvador: Land of Hosts,» was organized by the Salvadoran embassy in Stockholm and drew businessmen from Sweden’s tourism sector, as well as key players in the European tourism industry.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the country’s potential as a top tourist destination, emphasizing its diverse attractions, unique experiences, and business opportunities within the tourism sector. «We are presenting a renewed and safe country, with solid infrastructure and emblematic projects, such as Surf City, among other destinations in our tourist offer, which ranges from volcanoes and lakes to beaches, gastronomy, traditions, and history,» said Patricia Godínez, Ambassador of El Salvador to Sweden.

The event was part of El Salvador’s broader efforts to strengthen ties with institutions and businesses in Sweden, as well as across the Nordic and Baltic regions. «We will continue to promote our country in Sweden, as well as in the rest of the Nordic and Baltic regions,» Godínez affirmed.

Attendees expressed positive reactions to El Salvador’s offerings, with many remarking on the delicious taste of the country’s national dish, pupusas, and the appeal of its beaches, even in winter. «El Salvador looks really incredible,» one attendee commented, while others highlighted the country’s friendly people and inviting climate.

The Ministry of Tourism reported that El Salvador welcomed 3.9 million international visitors in 2024, marking a 17% growth from the previous year. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized its support for the continued growth of the tourism sector, noting that efforts by diplomatic and economic representatives contribute to strengthening the industry.
