Vice President Ulloa Leads 1st 2024 National Council for Development Meeting.

The Vice President of the Republic of El Salvador, Mr. Félix Ulloa Jr., chaired the 1st Ordinary Meeting of the 2024 period of the National Council for Development (CND), gathering key figures from various government institutions. The meeting saw the participation of Minister of Education, Mr. @JMauricioPineda; Vice Minister of Finance, Mr. Luis Sánchez; President of the Board of Directors of @integracionsv, Mr. Alejandro @GutmanSV; President of @ISDEMU, Mrs. Yanci Salmerón; Director of @AgenciaESCO, Mrs. @Karla_ESCOSV; and the Director of the National Development and Design Agency, Mr. @DavidRivardSV, along with representatives from 11 other government entities.

During the meeting, Vice President Ulloa addressed the ongoing institutional reform of the CND, which aims to align its objectives, functions, and structure with the strategic policies of the Government. The reform includes the integration of new member institutions, such as @AgenciaESCO and @integracionsv, to enhance the Council’s capacity.

A key point of discussion was the development of the CND’s strategic projects, including the modernization of its technological platform, which will centralize, process, and analyze data in real-time. This digital platform, supported by Google, will improve transparency and accountability in the execution of public policies. Additionally, the meeting highlighted the achievements of the II Voluntary National Review presented to the United Nations in 2022, where El Salvador reported a 62% compliance rate.

Vice President Ulloa also mentioned the progress in preparing the third Voluntary National Review, scheduled for 2025 in New York. The new entities joining the CND will play a crucial role in contributing to this report. The meeting also provided updates on the creation of the Notebook on Human Development, developed in collaboration with the Vice Minister of Diaspora and Human Mobility, Ms. @cindyportal, @PNUDSV, and @OIMSV.

Representatives from all attending institutions reiterated their commitment to the Council’s objectives, emphasizing the importance of inter-institutional cooperation and the role of the CND in driving the country’s progress. The meeting concluded with a strong affirmation of the CND’s strategic importance in advancing El Salvador’s development.
