El Salvador Promotes Entrepreneurship through Education Reform.

A groundbreaking agreement was signed today between the National Commission for Micro and Small Enterprises (CONAMYPE) and the Ministry of Education of El Salvador (@EducacionSV) to foster entrepreneurship through education. The agreement aims to review and update the curriculum for basic and secondary education, with a focus on key areas such as business management, administration, accounting, finance, innovation, and technology.

The agreement was signed by Paul D. Steiner, President of CONAMYPE, and Dr. Mauricio Pineda, Minister of Education. It emphasizes the need to integrate business management and innovation into non-economic and non-engineering fields, ensuring that future generations are better equipped to engage in entrepreneurial ventures.

«This is an unprecedented step to instill an entrepreneurial spirit in our students, something that is crucial for the future of our economy,» said Minister Pineda. «This means that the graduating class of 2025 will receive business management education, which will be a great advantage for them as they venture into entrepreneurship.»

Paul D. Steiner, President of CONAMYPE, explained that the agreement will go beyond basic education, introducing students to practical skills such as starting their first business, creating a business plan, and acquiring financial literacy. «This initiative will foster an entrepreneurial culture and equip students with the tools to succeed in business,» he added.

Through this partnership, teachers will receive specialized training to support the integration of entrepreneurial education into their classrooms, marking a significant step toward empowering the next generation of business leaders in El Salvador.
