First Lady Gabriela de Bukele Leads Effort to Provide Hearing Aids to 1,200 Beneficiaries.

The First Lady of El Salvador, Gabriela de Bukele, took part in a significant initiative to improve the quality of life for people with hearing impairments by participating in the delivery of 2,400 hearing aids to 1,200 beneficiaries. The event, which took place over two days at the National Gymnasium, was made possible through collaboration with the Starkey Hearing Foundation and Oído Center.

The donated hearing aids were accompanied by essential accessories, including a battery kit and detailed instructions on proper maintenance, ensuring the longevity and effective use of the devices. This generous donation, valued at more than $1.3 million, is part of ongoing efforts to support individuals with mild to moderate hearing loss.

The selection process for beneficiaries was based on careful technical and scientific criteria, with individuals who were identified as having hearing loss being prioritized. The initiative received support from several key organizations, including the Ministry of Health, the Salvadoran Institute for Comprehensive Rehabilitation (ISRI), and the Ministry of Social Welfare.

This impactful project highlights the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for Salvadorans, particularly those with hearing challenges.
