Our General Director, @daalvarezc, represented the nation at the Ministerial Meeting of the #IXSemanaDeLaEnergía, organized by @OLADEORG, where he highlighted the significant strides our country has made in energy transition in a remarkably short period.
«El Salvador has decided to consolidate nuclear energy as an important and core piece of our energy matrix and advance our commitment to sustainability,» stated @daalvarezc during the meeting. This bold vision aligns with the goals set forth by President @nayibbukele, as El Salvador seeks to lead the way in energy reform in the region.
The General Director outlined key initiatives that illustrate the nation’s commitment to a sustainable energy future:
- Increasing Renewable Energy Participation: El Salvador aims to enhance the integration of renewable energy sources into its energy matrix, with nuclear energy playing a pivotal role.
- Biogas Power Generation Plant: Plans are underway for the construction of the first Biogas Power Generation Plant, which will further diversify the energy supply.
- Research and Development: By 2030, El Salvador intends to establish a research reactor, with aspirations for a potential nuclear reactor by 2040.
«Our progress is not just a national achievement; we are sharing our journey with other countries in the region as part of President @nayibbukele’s comprehensive economic plan,» @daalvarezc added.
El Salvador’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in energy is poised to set a benchmark for others, reinforcing its status as a reference point in the region’s energy landscape.
