Hungary Opens University Scholarship Program for Salvadoran Students.

El Salvador now offers a new avenue for academic growth and skill development through the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program. Launched by the Hungarian government, this initiative enables Salvadoran students and professionals to pursue higher education in Hungary.

Through this program, Salvadorans can study for bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees in priority fields critical for national development, including science, technology, engineering, mathematics, medicine, and agriculture.

In addition to tuition and monthly fees, the scholarships cover accommodation, healthcare, and provide a monthly stipend for students during their stay.

“This collaborative effort between El Salvador and Hungary reflects both nations’ commitment to advancing society through knowledge and capacity-building,” stated Julia Villatoro, El Salvador’s Ambassador to Hungary. Villatoro spearheaded the agreement, which stands as a valuable opportunity for Salvadoran youth to access quality education and transformative experiences that contribute to building a better El Salvador.

The Stipendium Hungaricum program was formalized through a bilateral memorandum of understanding, signed in Budapest by Ambassador Villatoro and officials from Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, to foster educational cooperation and strengthen skills in shared areas of interest.

The call for applications for these scholarships will be announced soon.
