Lighting the Path to Inclusion: AES El Salvador Graduates Over 100 Women in Electrical Engineering.

In a significant step towards promoting gender equality in the workforce, AES El Salvador, in collaboration with the Salvadoran Institute for the Development of Women (ISDEMU) and the General Superintendence of Electricity and Telecommunications (SIGET), has certified 103 women as Electrical Technicians. This initiative aims to empower these graduates to either enter the electrical sector or enhance their existing careers, thereby fostering greater labor inclusion.

«We celebrate the achievement of each of these bold women who, with dedication and effort, have completed an important path of training, but also of empowerment, equity, and professional development,» stated Abraham Bichara, Executive President of AES El Salvador.

The newly certified technicians have gained essential technical skills necessary for carrying out residential electrical installations safely and reliably. Furthermore, this cohort has also received specialized training in the Installation and Maintenance of Air Conditioning Systems, significantly broadening their expertise.

The program is designed not only to equip women with technical knowledge but also to empower them as agents of change within their communities. In partnership with the Skills for Employment Project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), this year’s participants also benefited from additional specializations in Design and Assembly of Photovoltaic Systems and Automation for the Control of Electric Motors. These advanced skills are expected to enhance their competitiveness in the labor market.

As AES El Salvador continues to champion initiatives that support women’s advancement in technical fields, this program serves as a testament to the company’s commitment to fostering an inclusive workforce that reflects the diverse talents and capabilities of all members of society.
