El Salvador made a significant stride in its energy future by participating for the first time in the 68th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) held in Vienna. The Central American nation unveiled its ambitious plans to integrate nuclear energy into its energy matrix, signaling a pivotal shift in its energy strategy.

At the conference, Rafael Grossi, Director General of the IAEA, commended El Salvador for its proactive approach towards adopting nuclear technology. In a notable meeting during the conference, Grossi engaged with Daniel Álvarez, El Salvador’s Director of Energy, Hydrocarbons, and Mines.
