In a solemn tribute during the 203rd Independence Day celebrations, President Nayib Bukele honored the martyrs of El Salvador who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Addressing the high commands and the public, President Bukele recognized the courage and dedication of those who fell while serving their nation, highlighting their pivotal role in securing the independence celebrated today.
«These brave individuals gave their lives out of love for our homeland,» President Bukele stated. «Their sacrifice has bequeathed us the freedom we cherish. It is our duty to protect and honor their legacy.»
The President emphasized that both the green olive heroes (military personnel) and the blue heroes (police officers) are the pillars supporting the new El Salvador with their bravery, honor, and sacrifice. “As Commander General of the Armed Forces and President of this small but beautiful country, Let us be guardians of their legacy, my commitment remains as steadfast as yours,” President Bukele affirmed.
He reaffirmed his government’s dedication to building an El Salvador marked by fair opportunities and equitable development for all. Calling on every Salvadoran to uphold the values of patriotism, he stressed that «God, Union, and Freedom» remain the cornerstones of the nation’s progress.
