Officials from the governments of El Salvador and Guatemala convened at the Hachadura Customs office to discuss key initiatives related to the ongoing Customs Union process. The meeting aimed to advance tools promoting #TradeFacilitation.
The General Directorate of Customs of El Salvador hosted the event, providing a tour of the Hachadura facilities. El Salvador’s Minister of Economy, María Luisa Hayem, Guatemala’s Minister of Economy, Gabriela García, alongside representatives from the Secretariat for Central American Economic Integration (SIECA) and the Superintendency of Tax Administration, were given a comprehensive overview of the border’s operational spaces and processes.
Hachadura was one of the first customs offices to implement the Advanced Declaration system in collaboration with Guatemala, streamlining customs procedures and accelerating cross-border trade between the two nations.
