Big Brands and Local Favorites Set to Open in San Salvador’s Historic District.

Over ten new businesses are slated to open their doors in the Historic Center of San Salvador between September and October, according to Manuel Rodríguez Joachín, Manager of Cooperation and International Relations for San Salvador Centro and Director of the Historic Center Planning Authority (Aplan). In a recent interview with Canal 10, Rodríguez revealed that these projects are currently in the execution phase.

Among the new arrivals are well-known names like Starbucks, which is set to open a second location in the area, and McDonald’s, returning to the Historic Center after years of absence. Other businesses include Hotel Cardedeu, Pizza Siciliana, Silvestre Café & Bistro, LlaoLlao, and Mike Mike, which will feature an interactive museum with iconic products. Local favorites such as Pizzería La Clásica and Pollo Campero will also establish a presence in the area.

In addition to these businesses, Rodríguez announced the upcoming opening of a National Craft Museum. Operated by the National Commission for Micro and Small Enterprises (Conamype), the museum will provide artisans with a space to showcase and demonstrate their products. The museum will also feature a dedicated area for sales and a restaurant, further supporting micro and small businesses in the region.

Since Aplan began operations, over 80 projects, representing an investment of approximately $60 million, have been managed, Rodríguez noted. The Craft Museum is expected to open by the end of this year, marking a significant step in the revitalization of San Salvador’s Historic Center.
