President Nayib Bukele speaks out on Venezuelan elections.

El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele has publicly condemned the recent Venezuelan elections, describing them as fraudulent and disconnected from the true situation in the country. In a strong statement, Bukele criticized the official election results as a blatant fraud and insisted that they do not accurately reflect the reality on the ground.

“What we saw yesterday in Venezuela has no other name than fraud,” Bukele declared. “An ‘election’ where the official result has no relation to reality. Something obvious to anyone.”

This criticism underscores Bukele’s ongoing opposition to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, with whom El Salvador severed diplomatic ties four years ago. Bukele has emphasized that El Salvador will not consider restoring relations with Venezuela until genuinely democratic elections are held.

“We will not reopen them until their people can choose their leaders in real elections,” Bukele affirmed, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to democratic principles and electoral integrity.
