To promote innovation and development, interns from the 2024 National and International Internship Program recently visited the Las Hojas Desalination Plant in the Las Hojas district. This cutting-edge technology allows the conversion of seawater into potable water, addressing the water needs of the local community.
Rubén Alemán, head of the National Administration of Aqueducts and Sewers (ANDA), guided the interns through the desalination process, highlighting the plant’s significant impact. The facility currently benefits over 1,000 residents, including a local school, ensuring a reliable supply of clean drinking water.
«This is yet another example of our efforts to deliver quality water to more Salvadorans,» Alemán stated. The visit underscores ANDA’s commitment to leveraging advanced technologies to meet the nation’s water demands, benefiting both current and future generations.
