Today marks a milestone for the San Salvador Historic Center Authority with the grand opening of its new headquarters, located in a beautifully renovated heritage building. This event underscores the Authority’s strong commitment to revitalizing San Salvador’s heart, preserving its historical legacy, and fostering a conducive environment for investments that drive socioeconomic development and create new formal employment opportunities.
One of the primary goals of the Authority is to create an investment-friendly environment, enhancing the business climate for entrepreneurs and thereby invigorating the national economy. The new facilities house the country’s first One-Stop Shop, an innovative public administration model that allows users to complete all their administrative procedures in one place.
The main objective of this system is to simplify and expedite administrative procedures for citizens and investors. It is characterized by its efficiency, significantly reducing the time required for resolutions to a maximum of 90 business days, after which the principle of positive silence takes effect.
The Authority is at the forefront of attracting investments to the Historic Center, offering unique fiscal and municipal incentives in El Salvador to encourage new investments in sectors such as:
✅ Accommodation ✅ Food services ✅ Real estate and housing development ✅ Cultural activities
Within the new building, citizens can centralize the processing of construction permits, business licenses, and public space usage authorizations. Additionally, cadastral services, as well as commerce, intellectual property, and movable guarantees services from the National Registry Center (CNRSV), will be provided through an inter-institutional cooperation agreement.
Moreover, the new headquarters will host the Tourist Assistance Center (CAT), an extension of the Salvadoran Tourism Corporation (CORSATUR). This center will offer technical assistance, tourist information, and support to both domestic and international visitors.
This initiative marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to enhance the Historic Center’s appeal, ensuring its preservation and growth for future generations.
