The Japanese government has reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the Salvadoran government and promoting economic growth during President Nayib Bukele’s second presidential term. Vice President Félix Ulloa reported that Japan aims to achieve this through cooperation in educational technology. Ulloa emphasized that education is a crucial pillar for societal development.
During a meeting with Japanese officials, including Ambassador Hoshino Yoshitaka and special envoy Hosaka Yasushi, Ulloa discussed ongoing projects in El Salvador supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). They also highlighted the importance of environmental initiatives, particularly in climate change mitigation and water security.
“El Salvador and the SICA region are actively working to protect the environment and reduce the impact of natural disasters,” Ulloa stated.
