For the second consecutive year, El Salvador made its mark at the SusHi Tech Tokyo Fair and the “City Leaders Program” Conference organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The prestigious event, which brought together 40,000 participants and representatives from 40 cities worldwide, highlighted the importance of international cooperation and cultural diversity in technological and urban development.
During the closing ceremony, Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike expressed her gratitude for the invaluable contributions from diverse local governments. “We appreciate the lessons learned and the cultural diversity that enriches our collective efforts,” Koike stated.
Representing El Salvador, Francisco Garay, a councilman from San Salvador, shared insights into the city’s revitalization initiatives. “This afternoon, I will present the experience of revitalizing the Historic Center of San Salvador as part of the #SusHiTechTokyo2024 City Leaders program. It is an honor to represent the efforts of San Salvador’s city hall, Mayor Mario Durán, and President Nayib Bukele in this significant process for our country,” Garay remarked.
