The administration of President Nayib Bukele enthusiastically participated in Google Day, an event dedicated to showcasing digital solutions aimed at transforming El Salvador. Hosted by Google and Salvadoran company Applaudo, the gathering brought together over 100 entities, highlighting the benefits of digitizing institutions and its positive impact on Salvadorans.
One of the primary demands voiced by users is the ability to conduct transactions through digital platforms from anywhere in the world. President Bukele’s government has already begun implementing this, saving time and money for citizens.
«This event will allow each institution to form a working idea, creating a portfolio of solutions and excellent ideas that will aid in their transformation,» emphasized Kevin Platero, Commercial Manager at Applaudo Studios for the Government segment.
Forums during the event addressed challenges in innovation within the public sector and the resulting impact on the population. Additionally, there were promotions, training sessions, and presentations on cybersecurity tools and data analytics. Participants also engaged in a workshop on creating digital development and transformation plans in their environments.
Platero highlighted the government’s efforts, particularly its partnership with Google, as a significant accelerator in the country’s transformation. «We are excited to be part of this transformation effort. Salvadoran talent is flourishing, allowing us to utilize our 10 years of learning to benefit our nation,» he emphasized.
The collaboration between the Salvadoran government and tech giants like Google signals a promising step towards modernization and progress, positioning El Salvador as a digital leader in the region.
