El Salvador and Saudi Arabia Forge Alliance for Sustainable Development.

The Chancellor, Alexandra Hill, held a meeting with her Saudi counterpart, His Highness Prince Faisal Bin Farhan, discussing fundamental issues for both states within the framework of bilateral strategic relations.

During the encounter, Minister Hill reaffirmed, «Saudi Arabia is an important partner for our nation, and we are extremely grateful for their support for initiatives driven by President Nayib Bukele, who has dedicated all efforts and resources of his administration to the development and well-being of Salvadorans.»

In this context, the Foreign Minister thanked Saudi Arabia for its support through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, which will enable the realization of an ambitious project for biogas power generation and wastewater treatment in the Acelhuate River.

«For El Salvador, this support commitment is of utmost importance, as it will guarantee the production of clean and renewable energy for thousands of Salvadoran households,» stated the Salvadoran diplomacy chief.

The meeting was conducive to informing Saudi authorities about the vision and scope of public policies being promoted by President Bukele’s Government in achieving prosperous, sustainable, and secure conditions for the Salvadoran population. It also highlighted El Salvador’s achievements in security matters, as well as in generating opportunities and prosperity for its inhabitants. These advancements have transcended borders and become a model for many nations facing similar challenges.

Likewise, Chancellor Hill extended an invitation to the Saudi business sector to consider El Salvador as an active partner in consolidating economic, commercial, and touristic opportunities that impact the Central American region.

Prince Faisal emphasized that Saudi Arabia is prioritizing initiatives that strengthen the country’s technological and digital capacity, including the use and development of artificial intelligence, aspects that align with El Salvador’s digital development vision.

Regarding the alliance to be formalized with the signing of the memorandum of understanding, the Saudi official expressed his satisfaction and pride in providing «immediate support to Salvadorans who will benefit from this project, which will have a direct impact on people’s health and quality of life.»

Chancellor Hill will continue to fulfill her work agenda in the Arab nation through a series of promotional and positioning meetings for the country with local officials and agencies.
