Vice President Félix Ulloa stated that his counterpart, Han Zheng, reiterated that the Asian giant has a keen interest in continuing to work with the Salvadoran Government.
Tourism, renewable energy, and technology stand as the main pillars for economic development outlined by the President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele, to be promoted in his second term, which will commence on June 1st. El Salvador aims to enlist the People’s Republic of China as an ally for this endeavor, as reported by Vice President Félix Ulloa following an official meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Han Zheng, and his team, held in the Grand Hall of the People in Beijing.
Ulloa, through X, noted that during the meeting, Zheng was briefed on the Salvadoran Government’s commitment to economic growth through the three aforementioned areas in President Nayib Bukele’s second term.
“It is here where we seek an ally like the People’s Republic of China,” Ulloa added at the end of the meeting, which also saw the participation of Salvadoran Vice Chancellor Adriana Mira.
The official meeting provided Ulloa an opportunity to express gratitude to Zheng for the cooperation that the people and government of the People’s Republic of China will continue to provide to El Salvador through the implementation of projects aimed at improving the quality of life for Salvadorans.
“Thank you, Vice President Han, for affirming that your government has a keen interest in continuing to work with El Salvador to strengthen our diplomatic, political, cultural, educational, and touristic relations, always fostering mutual respect above differences,” stated the Vice President.
Ulloa also expressed appreciation “for all the cooperation that China has provided through projects such as Sunset Park, the National Library of El Salvador, and the upcoming ones to be executed, the National Stadium, and the Ilopango Drinking Water Treatment Plant.”
