Chilean Officials Visit El Salvador to Learn Security Strategies Against Gangs.

In a bid to understand and implement effective security measures against gangs, Chilean politicians recently made a visit to El Salvador. This move highlights a growing interest among nations in learning from the security strategies employed by El Salvador.

Gustavo Villatoro, the Minister of Justice and Security, revealed that he recently met with politicians from Chile to share insights into the security strategies that have enabled El Salvador to apprehend gang members.

«We had the honor of hosting politicians from Chile, with whom we engaged in various sessions to divulge the details of our successful security strategies, spearheaded by President Nayib Bukele, such as the Territorial Control Plan and the War Against Gangs,» stated the official.

Villatoro emphasized that El Salvador has become the safest country in Latin America, attributing this to the concerted efforts of the Executive to combat criminal networks.

He further highlighted the country’s willingness to share tools that have facilitated the prosecution of gang members. «We continue to keep our doors open to all nations seeking tools to combat crime and work towards the security of their citizens,» he remarked on his X account.

The exchange between Chilean and Salvadoran officials underscores the importance of international cooperation in addressing complex security challenges, fostering mutual learning, and enhancing regional security efforts.
