President Nayib Bukele has emerged as the most voted candidate in the history of El Salvador, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s electoral landscape. The final tally from the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) reveals an overwhelming mandate for Bukele, with an astonishing 2,701,725 votes, representing 100% of the counted ballots.

The triumph was officially confirmed today by the TSE, which concluded the final scrutiny of all 8,644 ballots encompassing both national and overseas votes. Bukele, representing Nuevas Ideas (New Ideas), solidifies his position as the candidate who has garnered the highest number of votes in the country’s electoral history. His victory assures him another five-year term, set to conclude on June 1, 2029.

Noel Orellana, a magistrate of the TSE, expressed his perspective on the electoral process, stating, “I believe the Salvadoran people have sent a message of civility and have contributed what is rightfully theirs.”

The meticulous scrutiny encompassed a total of 8,562 ballots from the 14 departments within the country, including both in-person and remote voting modalities utilized abroad. The 82 overseas ballots have been completely processed, alongside the 8,258 domestic ballots, culminating in a comprehensive evaluation of the election results.

With this final scrutiny, Nayib Bukele’s resounding and sweeping victory cements his status as the most voted presidential candidate in the annals of El Salvador.
