The business sector of El Salvador extends its heartfelt congratulations to President Nayib Bukele on his successful reelection in the February 4th polls. Various industry associations, representing a significant number of private enterprises, have expressed their support for the election results and reaffirmed their commitment to collaborative efforts with the government for the nation’s development.
The Salvadoran Association of Industrialists (ASI) issued a statement commending the active participation of Salvadorans at home and abroad in the electoral process. ASI emphasized its dedication to fostering economic growth with the support of the presidency.
“We congratulate President Nayib Bukele and Vice President Félix Ulloa on the election outcome last Sunday. In the ASI, we reiterate our commitment to working with our partners on an agenda that creates improved conditions for a favorable production environment,” the statement read.
Similarly, the Chamber of Textile Industry, Clothing, and Free Trade Zones of El Salvador (Camtex) declared on February 5th on the platform ‘X’ that their focus for the next five years under President Bukele’s leadership would remain on attracting investments and generating employment.
“Camtex congratulates Nayib Bukele on being elected for a new presidential term. We reaffirm our commitment to continue working for the economic and social development of our country, attracting new investments, and creating more opportunities,” stated the announcement.
In alignment with these sentiments, the Exporters Corporation of El Salvador (Coexport) pledged to collaborate closely with the head of state and his team.
“Coexport extends its congratulations and reaffirms its commitment to boost the country’s export development by working in conjunction with President Bukele and his team,” stated the release on ‘X.’
The Salvadoran Chamber of Tourism (Casatur) announced its intention to work “closely” with the reelected administration to strengthen the tourism sector, which experienced significant growth in 2023.
Additionally, both the American Chamber of Commerce of El Salvador (AmCham) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of El Salvador (Camarasal) conveyed their congratulations to Bukele.
Jorge Hasbún, president of Camarasal, stated on ‘X’ that they would “coordinate efforts to build a prosperous future for all.”
In an interview with “Diario El Salvador,” Mario Padilla, executive director of the Salvadoran Chamber of Information Technology and Communication (Casatic), expressed optimism for the technology sector. He noted that President Bukele’s interest in strengthening the ecosystem aligns with the expectations of tech firms.
“We have very good prospects because President Bukele has shown a pro-technology stance. The modernization of the State and the adoption of new technologies by the Government represent a great opportunity for the sector. We continue to support the Government in various projects where we find common ground, such as the development of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem,” Padilla stated.
Erick Chacón, president of the Salvadoran Fintech Association (Asafintech), highlighted the positive impact of Bukele’s governance on the fintech sector.
“The continuity of President Bukele and the policies he has implemented are good news for us because we believe that a set of laws passed during his administration has propelled the fintech sector,” Chacón declared. The business community remains optimistic about the future, anticipating collaborative efforts for continued economic growth and technological advancements under President Nayib Bukele’s leadership.
