El Salvador’s Honorary Consul in Casablanca Inaugurates New Headquarters.

To bolster diplomatic relations and enhance economic cooperation between El Salvador and the Kingdom of Morocco, the Honorary Consul in Casablanca, Mehdi ALJ, unveiled the new headquarters of El Salvador’s Honorary Consulate. The move marks another step forward in the continuous expansion and improvement of El Salvador’s diplomatic and consular network under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele.

The newly inaugurated consulate, strategically located in Casablanca, the economic hub of the Arab nation, aims to create opportunities for trade and business. By promoting El Salvador’s export offerings, showcasing investment potentials, and fostering connections with key stakeholders, the office seeks to facilitate mutually beneficial partnerships.

One of the primary objectives of this initiative is to position El Salvador on the international stage through cultural activities and public diplomacy efforts. These endeavors are geared towards strengthening ties with the local community and fostering a positive image of El Salvador. Additionally, the consulate will actively identify and manage opportunities for collaboration that contribute to the overall development of the country and the well-being of its citizens.

Mehdi ALJ, the Honorary Consul leading these efforts, is a dedicated entrepreneur based in Casablanca, committed to advancing the interests of El Salvador. His responsibilities include not only promoting economic opportunities but also providing support to Salvadorans residing in the area, in coordination with the Salvadoran consular representation in Morocco.

During the inauguration ceremony, El Salvador’s Ambassador to Morocco, Ignacio de Cossío, emphasized the consulate’s role as a meeting point for the Salvadoran diaspora and potential investors. “We officially open a wonderful new headquarters for El Salvador’s Honorary Consulate in Casablanca, serving as a meeting point for the diaspora and investors interested in the opportunities offered by the new El Salvador,” stated the diplomat.
